Oracle APEX Tutorial (08 of 20) - Create an application

06:39
In this video we create an application. An application is something like a container that holds all the web pages and other items for your application. When you create an application you set the authentication method (security) you want the application to have and you select a theme (template colors and layout). After you create the application you will add several reports and forms. This is one in a series of videos that use Oracle APEX to create an application.

Oracle APEX Tutorial (13 of 20) - Show a hidden field (page item) in a form

02:15
This video shows how to display a field (a page item) that APEX has hidden in a form. By default APEX hides the primary key field in a form. If this field is populated automatically by a sequence and trigger, it may make sense to hide this. However, I find it is better to show the primary and foreign keys in forms because it helps new developers understand how a form works or, perhaps, why the form isn't working.

Oracle APEX tutorial (12 of 20) - LOVs (list of values) in forms

To assist users entering data through forms we often want to have lists of values that the user can pick from. You've probably seen these in online forms you've filled out--there is a drop-down list for you to choose from. In this video we create an LOV in the Shared Components sectino then add it to a form. We also look at an LOV that was created for us by APEX when we used the "lookup table" wizard when we first created the tables in our database.
