Rotary compressor sealing vane leakage/chatter
This video is in response to some questions by NOBOX7 and Aussie50 about a chattering noise and low flow from these rotary compressors when there is no back pressure. I took high speed video at 6000fps of the sealing vane, showing the vane separating from the rotary ring, allowing gas to escape from the high pressure side to the low pressure side.

Eight-transformer resonant MOT arcs
A resonant MOT setup consisting of 8 MOTs and 19 microwave capacitors (~17uF). All the MOTs and all the caps are in parallel banks, with the capacitor bank connected in series with the MOT output. Current draw is about 100A at 240V. Warning: Do not try this if you don't know the proper safety procedures. There are no second chances when working with microwave oven transformers. Even a one-transformer setup is deadly. -David & Walter

Fun with 2.2kV at 18A
WARNING - This is EXTREMELY dangerous and should never be attempted at home. If you touch the output of this, transformer bank, you're dead, no questions asked. Here is various things subjected to a bank of 10 MOTs - Microwave Oven Transformers - in parallel, producing 2.2kV at 18A. Connected directly to a 200A breaker in the electrical panel, this setup draws about 190A at 240V. No items of any value were destroyed in the making of this video. - David and Walter

Xenon short arc lamp bench test
Here we're running an Osram 1.6kW xenon short arc lamp on the bench, using a home built igniter, and a couple of Delta-Q battery chargers as a power supply. The lamp needs about 64A, and our chargers only put out 40A, so we're limited to about 1kW with the lamp dropping 25V. We also have no cooling yet, so the run time is limited to a few seconds. We did get the lamp running, but the arc was slightly unstable, probably due to the lack of arc stabilization magnets when running the lamp horizontally.

This is a heat pump water heater that I built, for heating potable hot water. It's based on parts from a 10,000BTU air conditioner, and various parts from the hardware store and refrigeration parts store. It provides about 3kW of heating capacity at 20C ambient temperature.
