Mini Habits Book Summary - Stephen Guise Animated Book Review

Free Summary and Worksheet of Mini Habits: http://www.2000books.com/summary Mini Habits Audiobook free here: http://www.2000books.com/free Subscribe Here: https://www.youtube.com/c/2000books Free Summary and Worksheet: http://www.2000books.com/wp/20books Join our facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/2000books A mini habit is a very small positive behavior that you force yourself to do every day; its "too small to fail" nature makes it weightless, deceptively powerful, and a superior habit-building strategy. --- The truth is, all the great things done in our lives are only through small daily incremental improvements. Why do mini habits work? Mini habits help overcome resistance – Our will power is very limited. Whenever we try to do something new, we have to overcome a lot of resistance. If you make the change so small that there is almost no resistance, then it is easier to get into it. Compound Effect – The small habits build to the point where the habit takes real stronghold which makes it difficult to break. You feel Successful – As you start to accomplish, it helps you do more daily. How to implement mini habits Make your goal fail-proof small – Break down your goal to small habits. So small that there is very little chance of you failing at it. Do not secretly expect to do more – Never cheat and expect yourself to perform more than what you are supposed to. The whole point is to do small acts to feel the accomplishment. Do it every day – No matter what, since the goal is so small, you have to stick to your schedule and get things done efficiently.

That still has to come from individuals—people just like you who have passion about something. The explosion in tribes means that anyone who wants to make a difference now has the tools at her fingertips. If you think leadership is for other people, think again—leaders come in surprising packages. All they have in common is the desire to change things, the ability to connect a tribe, and the willingness to lead. If you ignore this opportunity, you risk turning into a "sheepwalker"—someone who fights to protect the status quo at all costs, never asking if obedience is doing you (or your organization) any good. Sheepwalkers don't do very well these days. Tribes will make you think (really think) about the opportunities in leading your fellow employees, customers, investors, believers, hobbyists, or readers. . . . It's not easy, but it's easier than you think. When you are a starting entrepreneur, understanding the concept of tribes is really important. 1. Stand for something. Challenge the status quo such as what Martin Luther King did when he had an idea of a country that was not divided by race. You may have enemies because people are tied to their own way of thinking. His speech had emotional intensity and not just give simple truths or facts. In the process, he inspired a lot of people. 2.Have a tight relationship with your tribe. Have people who are fighting not for you but with you. Never have a purpose of pleasing everyone because it will never happen. 3.Leadership. Leaders are the ones who start the process and not seek permission. Make things happen even if it’s out of the ordinary. As you become a leader, you gain charisma along the way. Leadership is not based on a managerial principle, it is you believing in the cause so much that you will dedicate your life for it. 4.Spreading the message – You need to be able to speak to the hearts of your followers. When people believe in what you are trying to do, they would speak for you.

Good to Great Summary - Jim Collins

In Good to great Jim Collins talks about why some companies remain ordinary while others go to being great and return stellar stock market returns. The Challenge: Built to Last, the defining management study of the nineties, showed how great companies triumph over time and how long-term sustained performance can be engineered into the DNA of an enterprise from the verybeginning. But what about the company that is not born with great DNA? How can good companies, mediocre companies, even bad companies achieve enduring greatness? The Study: For years, this question preyed on the mind of Jim Collins. Are there companies that defy gravity and convert long-term mediocrity or worse into long-term superiority? And if so, what are the universal distinguishing characteristics that cause a company to go from good to great? The Standards: Using tough benchmarks, Collins and his research team identified a set of elite companies that made the leap to great results and sustained those results for at least fifteen years. How great? After the leap, the good-to-great companies generated cumulative stock returns that beat the general stock market by an average of seven times in fifteen years, better than twice the results delivered by a composite index of the world's greatest companies, including Coca-Cola, Intel, General Electric, and Merck. The Comparisons: The research team contrasted the good-to-great companies with a carefully selected set of comparison companies that failed to make the leap from good to great. What was different? Why did one set of companies become truly great performers while the other set remained only good? Over five years, the team analyzed the histories of all twenty-eight companies in the study. After sifting through mountains of data and thousands of pages of interviews, Collins and his crew discovered the key determinants of greatness -- why some companies make the leap and others don't. The Findings: The findings of the Good to Great study will surprise many readers and shed light on virtually every area of management strategy and practice. The findings include: Level 5 Leaders: The research team was shocked to discover the type of leadership required to achieve greatness. The Hedgehog Concept: (Simplicity within the Three Circles): To go from good to great requires transcending the curse of competence. A Culture of Discipline: When you combine a culture of discipline with an ethic of entrepreneurship, you get the magical alchemy of great results. Technology Accelerators: Good-to-great companies think differently about the role of technology. The Flywheel and the Doom Loop: Those who launch radical change programs and wrenching restructurings will almost certainly fail to make the leap. “Some of the key concepts discerned in the study,” comments Jim Collins, "fly in the face of our modern business culture and will, quite frankly, upset some people.” Perhaps, but who can afford to ignore these findings? Get the mindmap here: http://www.2000books.com/wp/20books/?utm_medium=youtube&utm_source=fastlane&utm_campaign=description Millionaire Fastlane. Book Summary. Visual Summary. Millionaire Mind Intensive. Think and Grow Rich. "Go to school, get a good job, save 10% of your paycheck, buy a used car, cancel the movie channels, quit drinking expensive Starbucks mocha lattes, save and penny-pinch your life away, trust your life-savings to the stock market, and one day, when you are oh, say, 65 years old, you can retire rich." The mainstream financial gurus have sold you blindly down the river to a great financial gamble: You've been hoodwinked to believe that wealth can be created by recklessly trusting in the uncontrollable and unpredictable markets: the housing market, the stock market, and the job market. This impotent financial gamble dubiously promises wealth in a wheelchair -- sacrifice your adult life for a financial plan that reaps dividends in the twilight of life. Accept the Slowlane as your blueprint for wealth and your financial future will blow carelessly asunder on a sailboat of HOPE: HOPE you can find a job and keep it, HOPE the stock market doesn't tank, HOPE the economy rebounds, HOPE, HOPE, and HOPE. Do you really want HOPE to be the centerpiece for your family's financial plan? Drive the Slowlane road and you will find your life deteriorate into a miserable exhibition about what you cannot do, versus what you can. For those who don't want a lifetime subscription to "settle-for-less" and a slight chance of elderly riches, there is an alternative; an expressway to extraordinary wealth that can burn a trail to financial independence faster than any road out there. Why jobs, 401(k)s, mutual funds, and 40-years of mindless frugality will never make you rich young. Why most entrepreneurs fail and how to immediately put the odds in your favor. The real law of wealth: Leverage this and wealth has no choice but to be magnetized to you. The leading cause of poorness: Change this and you change everything. How the rich really get rich - and no, it has nothing to do with a paycheck or a 401K match. Why the guru's grand deity - compound interest - is an impotent wealth accelerator. Why the guru myth of "do what you love" will most likely keep you poor, not rich. And 250+ more poverty busting distinctions... Demand the Fastlane, an alternative road-to-wealth; one that actually ignites dreams and creates millionaires young, not old. Change lanes and find your explosive wealth accelerator. Hit the Fastlane, crack the code to wealth, and find out how to live rich for a lifetime. Subscribe Here: https://www.youtube.com/c/2000books

Moonwalking with Einstein Summary Joshua Foer - 5 Keys to Improve your memory

18:15
Get Free Summary & Worksheet: http://www.2000books.com/summary It is quite difficult to learn how to improve our memory and how to improve our skills overtime. Often than not, the main idea that we tend to constantly do is that we do not suspend our beliefs and judgment which affects how we handle certain situations. A mind map is where you start chunking information into smaller information to remember concepts faster and clearer. Memory Palace – Identify a place in your home or anywhere else and associate the things within your home as you walk a certain path to remember better. Chunking – Because you cannot retain a lot of information all at the same time, you have to group certain ideas that are directly comparable so that retention would be more effective and efficient. Visual – The mind is not as efficient working with language as it is working with visuals. Mastery – Mastering your actions through deep practice. Stories – Stories are episodic. They have a time and place where you can imagine parts of the story. If you try to remember information based on facts, it will never work because they do not have associations with time, location, and character for us to remember better.

The hardest part about managing your time is not the planning. 1. Pause – Let us not see the world as we expect it to be but as it is. Expand your view of yourself as well and not limit the idea that you are the CEO of your company but in every aspect of your life. Stop reacting to the past and start acting towards the future. 2. Year – You need to follow your strengths, know your weaknesses, differences, and identify your passions that get you the most excited. Avoid surrendering after failure and do not be paralyzed with any obstacle. 3. Day – Plan the day to not lose anything, decide what it is you are going to do, decide what not to do as well, notate when you are going to do it tomorrow, and know your 18-minute ritual because of its predictability. 4. Moment – We need less motivation than we think. The hardest part is that initial moment of discipline. Instead of rewarding yourself with money, reward yourself with something more fun. Get over perfectionism as well.

Once you do that, 10x your actions as well for you to get 10x more problems and obstacles. Make your goals bigger despite facing bigger problems. 2. Average is bad – Mediocre goals do not result to any fuel for you to go for the things that you want. You are more likely to fail if your goals are average. 3. Love problems – As you grow, you should not avoid problems. The bigger your problems, the bigger you would be in life. 4. Dominate – You do not want to compete, you want to dominate. As an entrepreneur, you should think on how the competition would be irrelevant. 5. Commit first then figure it out later. A good plan executed today is better than a great plan executed a week later. As soon as you come in contact with the real business, all your plans will appear now than what you have anticipated. 6. Obligation, responsibility – If it’s going to happen, it’s all up to you. Go after success no matter what. Our success is our responsibility. It’s not the fact that we are not getting enough opportunities.

He started selling books in 1996 and later on decided to venture into music, electronics, and so much more. He has grown the company so much and here are 5 important lessons that we can learn from this ever-growing company. 1. Long term vision – Jeff wanted to build a company that would last for decades. Never be short-sighted of what could the business do not only for you, but also for the rest of your employees as well. 2. Failing is essential – Any experiment has a chance of failure. When you look at the glass half full, you would realize that the potential to grow lies within the lessons we learn on these errors. 3. Reading and learning – He was always looking to learn and grow by reading a lot of books. Knowing where you stand and what you can do to improve can help you and your business a lot. 4. Start small. Take action. Evolve. – Starting small is how everything starts. It all unfolds as you go so do not get discouraged when you are fighting it out in the trenches. 5. Missionary not mercenary – Being obsessed in satisfying your customers’ needs is always important for you to never miss out on what they are looking for.

This is a summary of his biography - made in America. Subscribe Here: https://www.youtube.com/c/2000books Timeline · 1918 – Born · 1945 – (@27)Bought a Ben Franklin store w/ 20k loan from father-in- law · $72,000 in sales in 1945 · $250,000 in sales in 1950 · Ousted because of lease issues at the store · 1951 – (@33) Opened 5&Dime in Bentonville, Arkansas 0. By 1962, he had opened 16 stores in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas. · 1962 – (@44)Opened 1st Walmart in Rogers Kansas. Mortgaged his home and borrowed to the hilt! · 1970 – Walmart goes public · 1979 – (@61)1st Billion $ in sales yr · 1982-88 – (@64) Richest man in America LESSONS: In his own words – the one element in his life that is made a difference above everything else is: His “Passion to Compete”. 1. “Money has never meant that much to me. Not even in terms of keeping score.” 2. What motivates him – Is to be on the top. It is not about the money. 3. He wanted to be the BEST. Not the Biggest 4. This is one of my favorite stories about Walmart’s (WMT) founder, Sam Walton. Back in the 1980s, the 60+ yr old Walton was arrested after crawling around in competitor stores on his hands and knees in Brazil. When Walton’s friends came to bail him out, he told them he’d been measuring aisle widths to determine exactly how they displayed their wares 5. “It never occurred to me that I might lose. It was almost as if I had the right to win. Thinking about that often turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy.” 6. David Glass said of Sam: “he is less afraid of being wrong than anyone I’ve ever known” 7. They conducted a lot of experiments a lot of which failed …. But the ones that succeeded, they leveraged them. Hard Work 1. 16 hours a day, 7 days a week 2. He used to go to the office on Saturday at 2-3 AM – just to go over the weekly numbers. 3. On other days he would at office at 4-4:30 in the morning · This early morning uninterrupted time is tremendously valuable – as it allowed him to think and plan 4. A lot of people think that Walmart was an overnight success; however, it was about 20 years in the making. Think Small – Paradoxical Thinking 1. The bigger Walmart gets, the more essential it is to think small. 2. “Because that’s exactly how we became a huge Corporation. By not acting like one” 3. “If we ever get carried away with how important we are... a great big $50 billion chain …. instead of this one store right now…. Then you can probably close the book on us.” 4. The bigger you are, the more ardently you probably need to start thinking small. 5. How does Walmart think small? · Think one store at a time. · Communicate, communicate, communicate. · Keep your ear to the ground. · Push responsibility and authority down. · Towards the front lines · Force ideas to bubble up. · This goes hand-in-hand with pushing responsibility down · Stay lean and fight bureaucracy. You never set out to add bureaucracy. · You just get it. Without even knowing it. Rules for Building a Great Business 1. COMMIT to your business · I think I overcame every one of my personal shortcomings by the sheer passion I had for the business · If you love your work you’ll be out there every day trying to do it the best you possibly can. 2. SWIM Upstream: · Go the other way · Ignore the conventional wisdom · If every else is doing it one way – there’s a good chance you can find a niche by going exactly opposite direction. · Be prepared for a lot of people to tell you that you are headed in the wrong direction Be prepared for a lot of people to tell you that you are headed in the wrong direction · To succeed in this world, you have to change all the time Hiring Talent 1. Take someone who has Real desire and willingness to work his tail off · Over someone who has experience and know how

In today's world, yesterday's methods just don't work. In Getting Things Done, veteran coach and management consultant David Allen shares the breakthrough methods for stress-free performance that he has introduced to tens of thousands of people across the country. Allen's premise is simple: our productivity is directly proportional to our ability to relax. Only when our minds are clear and our thoughts are organized can we achieve effective productivity and unleash our creative potential. In Getting Things Done Allen shows how to: * Apply the "do it, delegate it, defer it, drop it" rule to get your in-box to empty * Reassess goals and stay focused in changing situations * Plan projects as well as get them unstuck * Overcome feelings of confusion, anxiety, and being overwhelmed * Feel fine about what you're not doing From core principles to proven tricks, Getting Things Done can transform the way you work, showing you how to pick up the pace without wearing yourself down. ------- In this world, because of all the things we need to give our attention to, we have a tendency to get rattled. Let us discuss what we can do to stay focused. 3 most important ideas: Your mind is for having ideas, not for storing information – Stop pouring all these information in our head, instead figure out ways or create systems on how to store information that we do not need. Mind like Water appropriate Engagement – The higher the importance of the task at hand, the more engaged we need to be for us to be productive. Carve out mental space – Do not think about anything else whenever you are doing a task to operate efficiently 5 Step Getting Things Done System: Collect – Any time there is new information, store in a trusted source. Process – Once you have the information, identify what the next step is to move forward. Organize – Organize everything that you have collected and processed. Weekly Review – Identify what you have accomplished and prepare yourself for next week’s tasks. Just do it – With all the resources at hand, put these plans into action to reach your desired result or goal.
