I'm on my, I'm on my back again It's seeming more and more Like all we ever do is see how far it bends Before it breaks in half and then We bend it back again [Pre-Chorus] Guess I got caught in the middle of it Yes I've been taught, got a little of it In my blood, in my blood Memories burn like a forest fire Heavy rain turns any funeral pyre to mud In the flood [Chorus] When I was older I was a sailor on an open sea But now I'm underwater And my skin is paler than it should ever be [Bridge] I'm watching movies back to back in black and white, I never Seen anybody do it like I do it any better I'm goin' over you, I'm overdue for new endeavors Nobody lonely like I'm lonely and I don't know whether You'd really like it in the limelight You'd sympathize with all the bad guys I'm still a victim in my own right But I'm the villain in my own eyes, yeah [Outro] When I was older I was a sailor on an open sea Wallpaper: unsplash.com Art: https://society6.com/uniquevibes I don't own the music in this video. Farewell the Rocky Mountains - the sailors song ww2 - Battle of the Sea
Farewell the Rocky Mountains - the sailor song ww2 Farewell, rocky mountains, The Fatherland is calling for a feat. We have came into open sea For a harsh and long-distance campaign. The waves are moaning and weeping And splashing onto the ship board. Rybachij [peninsula], our native land, Has dissolved in distant fog. A severe sea wave Is toughly rocking our ship, Lifting up and throwing again Into the boiling chasm. I won't be back soon, But we have enough fire for the battle. I know, my friends, that I can't live without sea And the sea is lifeless without me. By a ponderous sailor's step I go toward the enemies And later with heroic victory I will return to the rocky shore. Though the waves are moaning and weeping And splashing onto the ship board, Rybachij, our native land, Will gladly greet the heroes.

Lolita - Sailor, Your Home Is The Sea (U.S. hit version 1960)
Lolita passed away on June 30, 2010 at the age of 79, due to cancer. See my slideshow for other pertinent info & history regarding this wonderful song & artist. Here are the lyrics to the song: (Composed by Werner Scharfenberger and Fini Busch, english words by lyricist Norman Newell, german version ("Seeman") by Lolita) - I copied this from the Internet and also had help in correcting some of the lyrics (thank you) (Seeman, deine Heimat ist das Meer) Seeman, lass das traeumen Denk nicht an zu Haus Seeman, Wind und Wellen Rufen dich hinaus Deine Heimat ist das Meer Deiner Freunde sind die Sterne Ueber Rio und Shanghai Ueber Bali und Hawaii Deiner Liebe ist dein Schiff Deiner Sehnsucht ist die Ferne Und nur Ihnen bist du Treu Ein Leben lang Seeman Sailor, Sailor Lass das traeumen Your home is the deep blue sea Denke Your ship is your love Nicht an mich And the stars are your best friends Seeman And though you find your thrills Denn die Fremde In the places far away from me Warte Just remember I'm always waiting Fur auf dir When your journey ends Deine Heimat ist das Meer Deiner Freunde sind die Sterne Ueber Rio und Shanghai Ueber Bali und Hawaii Deiner Liebe ist dein Schiff Deiner Sehnsucht ist die Ferne Und nur Ihnen bist du Treu Ein Leben lang

LOLITA - Sailor (Your Home Is the Sea) Amazingly Beautiful with No Recitation!
Originally (1960) a Top 5 hit in the U.S., and a smash hit in Europe, but we fell in love with this version mainly because there is no English recitation. Only the lovely singing of Lolita. Overall, the production is remarkably improved, and in stereo. Hope you like it!

How did early Sailors navigate the Oceans? | The Curious Engineer
Do you know how the early sailors navigate the oceans? The technology today makes it real easy to navigate the oceans. But it's very interesting to know how the early sailors managed to navigate without it. There's a lot of history on it. Drunken Sailor - Instrumental Fiddle Sea Shanty
Here is an instrumental fiddle version of the sea shanty, "Drunken Sailor." This tune is a fun and simple tune to play, and it has a really catchy melody. =) I hope you enjoy this version of the tune! ^_^ Sheet Music: http://www.katyadelson.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/DrunkenSailor_Fiddle.pdf Backing Track (no piano help / silent introduction -- the backing track used in the video): http://katyadelson.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/DrunkenSailorBacking.mp3 Backing Track that is easier to follow (piano melody introduction help): http://katyadelson.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/DrunkenSailorBackingPianoMelody.mp3 Sea shanties were sailor work songs and often had a repetative melody. Versions of this tune have been incorporated into several orchestral arrangements, and the first time I played it was part of an arrangement of folk dances for an orchestra. Since then, I've heard people sing the lyrics often in bars and pubs, and it's a tune that definitely gets an audience excited. It seems like it is one of the few tunes that many people can recognize - even those who do not listen to traditional music very often. It has appeared across multiple production and video games, including "Spongebob Squarepants" and "Assassin's Creed" There are many lyric verses to this tune, but the lyrics most people tend to sing along to are these: What will we do with the drunken sailor? What will we do with the drunken sailor? What will we do with the drunken sailor? Early in the morning! Way, hey and up she rises, Way, hey and up she rises, Way, hey and up she rises, Early, in the morning! I personally think some of the lyrics get a bit crazy about things to do with a drunk sailor, but it's still a fun tune. It kind of makes me wonder what it was actually like to be a sailor on a boat for months on end during the past few centuries. Technology has really changed everything a lot over the years, and I think it's neat to think about. I thought I'd try to add more interesting things to this video by creating time lapses of the sun rising and setting, as well as scenery views. Hopefully those things make the video a little more interesting to watch. ^_^ I've also noticed that ever since I started to learn Cello, my violin right bow hand has become so confused. It looks like I'm struggling to keep a violin bow hold in this video, (and trying to morph into a cello bow hold) so I think I need to put some focus into that! =S Thank you for watching, and I hope you have a good rest of the week! =) ~ Katy ------------ Software and equipment used: Software used (for Macintosh): Garageband for attempted sound mixing Final Cut Pro for video editing PicMonkey.com for the ending cards Plugins for sound effects (I have A LOT to learn in this department!): East West plugins – Goliath Virtual Instrument, Stormdrum II Best Service Forest Kingdom II by Eduardo Tarilonte (See: bestservice.de) Camera: Canon 70D Microphone for audio recording: Blue Woodpecker

Most of us adore beach resorts and go to one of the large saltwater bodies at least once a year. However, we shouldn’t forget that the sea is as attractive as it is wayward. We at Bright Side wondered how a person who happened to be in the open sea should behave. It turns out there are several rules that aren’t at all difficult to remember. Despair is your most dangerous enemy. Don’t give up hope of being saved. There are many stories of people who were found in the open sea months after their disappearance. For instance, 25-year-old sailor Poon Lim, who worked on a British merchant ship, survived alone 133 days in the open sea. After a shipwreck, he managed to find a raft with fresh water, cookies, flares, and a flashlight. Every day, Lim ate only 2 cookies and made 3 sips of water. To avoid muscle atrophy, he even floated around the raft twice a day. As you can see, human possibilities are endless. The main thing is to keep calm and hope for the best. TIMESTAMPS Calm down 0:35 Choose the right swimming style 0:57 Find something that floats 1:37 Take care of clothes 1:55 Decide what you’ll eat 2:16 Provide yourself with liquid 3:01 Save yourself properly 4:02 Don’t lose hope 5:06 SUMMARY - Panic definitely won’t help you. It can cloud your judgment and make you lose the rhythm of breathing. Therefore, the first thing you should do is to calm down. - The style of swimming you choose determines how long your strength will last. In calm water, it’s better to swim on your back. If waves splash around you, it’s better to swim on your belly. - If you’re in the open sea as a result of a shipwreck or an airplane water landing, there must be plenty of things around you that perfectly keep afloat. It will be even better if it’s a boat or a raft with which ships are equipped. - Remember that open sunlight can be extremely dangerous. So don’t remove your clothes — they’ll protect you from the sun. - If you have rations, divide them into small daily portions. This will make them last for a long time, and you won’t have problems with digestion. - Try to fish even if you have stores of food. After all, fish contain some liquid. - You have to consume the liquid constantly but never drink seawater. - Try to ensure that you always have a couple of empty containers left for collecting rainwater. According to studies, drinking untreated rainwater is safe for your health. - • If you found fluorescein, dissolve it in the water when you see an airplane or ship. It forms a bright spot around you which can be easily seen from the air and from afar. US Navy sailors have one of the coolest job perks in the world
"Swim call" is a rare treat that can sometimes be experienced on deployments out at sea. The military tradition allows sailors to take a breather and enjoy the open ocean as their own private swimming pool. Sailors injured as Russia attacks and seizes Ukrainian ships in Black Sea
Subscribe to our YouTube channel for free here: https://sc.mp/subscribe-youtube Ukraine accused Russia of “an act of aggression” on Sunday, November 25, as Russia’s border guards reportedly opened fire on and seized three of its vessels and wounded at least three crew members in the Black Sea. The three Ukrainian naval ships were heading for the port of Mariupol in the Sea of Azov. Amid heightened tension between the countries Russia had shut off access to the Sea of Azov from the Black Sea, and accused Ukraine of entering its territorial waters without permission. The European Union and NATO have urged both sides to show restraint and “de-escalate the situation immediately” and the UN Security Council was to meet Monday to discuss the situation.

10 Sea Monsters ATTACKING A Boat!
Check out these 10 sea monsters attacking a boat! This top 10 list of ocean creatures like whales and great white sharks attacking a ship shows some bizarre stories caught on camera! Subscribe For New Videos! http://goo.gl/UIzLeB Watch our "MYSTERIOUS Creatures Living At The BOTTOM Of The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/Efhjc-Gu508 Watch our "SECRETS Casinos DON'T Want You To Find Out!" video here: https://youtu.be/hAoABuvzOZM Watch our "RAREST And Most EXPENSIVE Cars In The World!" video here: https://youtu.be/MtCnWSqqilg 10. Great White Shark If you’ve been on a boat out on the ocean, a Jaws attack has probably crossed your mind. Even if it’s just barely!! Then of course you rationalize that the chances of that happening are practically 0. Practically. That’s what Terry Selwood, a 73-year-old Australian fisherman learned in 2017, when a great white shark leapt out of the water, into his boat!! 9. An Eagle Ray Rays seem like beautiful, serene creatures - but they can be extremely dangerous, even if you’re on the relative safety of a large tourist boat. In 2011, Jenny Hausch had rented a 26-foot catamaran for her family to take a trip in Florida. Sounds really nice right? 8. Swordfish In 2017, Alan Pope, a British tourist, was on a boat trip getting ready to go snorkeling in Indonesia when everything went horribly wrong. Without any warning, a swordfish jumped out of the water and into the boat, and impaled his neck with its bill. The end snapped off, and left six inches of the sword still jabbed inside his neck, just millimeters from instantly killing him. 7. Sperm Whales The Gulf of Alaska is a prime fishing location, especially for those trying to catch black cod. In these waters, though, there is a much larger creature that also likes eating the fish- sperm whales. They are the ocean’s largest toothed predators, and while they are quite capable of catching food for themselves, they much prefer taking the easy route. 6. Giant Squid Mostly creatures of legend, giant squids are mentioned in many old mariners tales of dangers at sea. But they are rarely seen, let alone involved in attacking boats. So when a team of French sailors came face to face with one in 2003, they almost didn’t believe it!! 5. Bull Shark You might think that a great white shark would be the most problematic shark species to boats, but there’s another type that can be more aggressive, and more likely to risk an encounter. 4. Jellyfish Sometimes it’s the smallest things that can have the biggest effect, something that became ever so apparent in 2017 when Chinese scientists were investigating why their aircraft carriers were experiencing difficulties. They found that large swarms of Jellyfish were getting caught up in the propulsion systems! This would stop the ships dead in their tracks, or cause the engines to overheat and cause extreme damage. 3. Mako Shark This next story took place just last year, 2017 in Long Island, New York. A fishing charter boat was taking guests to the location where they find the widest variety of fish, when suddenly a Mako shark jumped onto the side of the boat. Unfortunately for the fish, it managed to get itself stuck in the handrail of the boat and, despite thrashing about, it couldn’t free itself. 2. Black Marlin Game fishing is a popular pastime for many enthusiasts, but when you’re chasing after some of the largest and most powerful marine creatures on earth, you have to be ready for the unpredictable. Again last year, things went very wrong indeed for a fishing boat off the coast of Panama. They had caught a black marlin, a species that can weight up to 1500 pounds and reach speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. 1. Killer Whale If you’ve ever watched a nature documentary that’s featured Killer Whales, you’ll be all too familiar how organised and clever they can be. Pods work together to catch prey, and even tilt ice flows to trap seals. When they turn these skills towards human activity, the results can be frightening. Surveyors, Engineers, Pilots and Sailors Expose the Flat Earth
Surveyors, engineers and architects are never required to factor the supposed curvature of the Earth into their projects, providing another proof the world is a plane, not a planet. Canals and railways, for example, are always cut and laid horizontally, often over hundreds of miles, without any allowance for curvature. The Suez Canal, for example, which connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Gulf of Suez on the Red Sea is a clear proof of the Earth’s and water’s non-convexity. The canal is 100 miles long and without any locks so the water within is an uninterrupted continuation of the Mediterranean Sea to the Red Sea. When it was constructed, the Earth’s supposed curvature was not taken into account, it was dug along a horizontal datum line 26 feet below sea-level, passing through several lakes from one sea to the other, with the datum line and the water’s surface running perfectly parallel over the 100 miles. The average level of the Mediterranean is 6 inches above the Red Sea, while the floodtides in the Red Sea rise 4 feet above the highest and drop 3 feet below the lowest in the Mediterranean, making the half-tide level of the Red Sea, the surface of the Mediterranean Sea, and the 100 miles of water in the canal, all a clear continuation of the same horizontal line! Were they instead the supposed curved line of globe-Earthers, the water in the center of the canal would be 1666 feet (502 x 8 inches = 1666 feet 8 inches) above the respective Seas on either side! http://www.EricDubay.com http://www.AtlanteanConspiracy.com http://www.IFERS.123.st

Bering Sea Sailor
Just some of the footage we've shot throughout the past year up in Kodiak aboard the USCGC Alex Haley. I couldn't have done it without the help from the crew. All was shot throughout the Winter 2014, and spring 2015, around the bearing sea. Land shots in Dutch Harbor, and Kodiak. Everything shot on Hero 4 edited in imovie. Song is "When my time comes - Dawes". The first of many to come. Fair winds and Following Seas. Cheers

Six Months At Sea In The Merchant Marine
In this short documentary, I tried to answer some of the common questions that I usually get about shipping. The footage I took myself using fairly basic cameras that I could fit in my pocket while I was on the job as a deckhand. The story follows me on a six month journey around the world on a container ship which was on a run between New York and Singapore via the Suez Canal. This was my first time going to sea on a large ship so everything was relatively new to me, therefore please excuse the couple of shipping terms I misused (such as saying "license" when I should have said "credential"). I have been on many ships since and will continue to ship out for the foreseeable future. Thanks for watching.
