The premiere was conducted by the composer himself in Saint Petersburg on 8 February 1908. Its duration is approximately 60 minutes when performed uncut; cut performances can be as short as 35 minutes. The score is dedicated to Sergei Taneyev, a Russian composer, teacher, theorist, author, and pupil of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Alongside his Piano Concerto No. 2 and Piano Concerto No. 3, this symphony remains one of the composer's best known compositions. - Wikipedia +++ Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff (Russian: Серге́й Васи́льевич Рахма́нинов, tr. Sergéj Vasíl'evič Rahmáninov; IPA: [sʲɪrˈɡʲej rɐxˈmanʲɪnəf]; 1873 – 1943) was a Russian virtuoso pianist, composer, and conductor of the late-Romantic period, some of whose works are among the most popular in the classical repertoire. Born into a musical family, Rachmaninoff took up the piano at age four. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1892 and had composed several piano and orchestral pieces by this time. In 1897, following the critical reaction to his Symphony No. 1, Rachmaninoff entered a four-year depression and composed little until successful therapy allowed him to complete his enthusiastically received Piano Concerto No. 2 in 1901. After the Russian Revolution, Rachmaninoff and his family left Russia and resided in the United States, first in New York City. Demanding piano concert tour schedules caused his output as composer to slow tremendously; between 1918 and 1943, he completed just six compositions, including Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, Symphony No. 3, and Symphonic Dances. In 1942, Rachmaninoff moved to Beverly Hills, California. One month before his death from advanced melanoma, Rachmaninoff acquired American citizenship. Early influences of Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Balakirev, Mussorgsky, and other Russian composers gave way to a personal style notable for its song-like melodicism, expressiveness and his use of rich orchestral colors. The piano is featured prominently in Rachmaninoff's compositional output, and through his own skills as a performer he explored the expressive possibilities of the instrument. - Wikipedia +++ GOOGLE SONG INFO: Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - Various Artists 10:41 - 13:45 Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - Johnny Mathis 19:51 - 21:51 Swing Low, Sweet Chariot - Louis Armstrong & His All-Stars 7:21 - 10:00 +++ Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” That’s exactly what Jesus did. Korla Pandit

02:11
Before there was Liberace, there was Korla Pandit (literally). Korla Pandit had a daily afternoon music TV show in LA back in the 1950s where he played his unique percussive style of Hammond organ while mystical cloud projections passed in the background and the camera focused in on his dreamy hypnotic eyes. So dreamy & hypnotic, in fact, that wealthy women started sending him really expensive gifts, like grand pianos. Rumors began to circulate that Pandit was actually hypnotizing women thru the TV & the concern got so great that the station cancelled him & he was replaced by an up & coming pianist - Liberace. Korla slipped into obscurity, eventually playing organ at silent film revival houses in LA until Tim Burton cast him for a cameo as himself in Ed Wood. With thanks to, & in memory of, Lux Interior.

Moon River! (Arthur Fiedler) (Lyrics) Super Romantic & Beautiful 4K Music Video Album! H.D.

23:58
LYRICS: Moon river, wider than a mile I'm crossing you in style some day Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way! Two drifters, off to see the world There's such a lot of world to see We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend - My huckleberry friend, moon river, and me! +++ ALBUM SONGS LIST: Moon River (Four Versions) + Moon Over Miami & Mondo Cane (Two Versions)! +++ "Moon River" is a song composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer. It was originally performed by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's, winning an Academy Award for Best Original Song. The song also won the 1962 Grammy Awards for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. The song has been covered by many other artists. It became the theme song for Andy Williams, who first recorded it in 1962 (and performed it at the Academy Awards ceremony that year). He sang the first eight bars of the song at the beginning of each episode of his eponymous television show and named his production company and venue in Branson, Missouri, after it; his autobiography is called "Moon River" and Me. Williams' version was never released as a single, but it charted as an LP track that he recorded for Columbia on a hit album of 1962, Moon River and Other Great Movie Themes. The song's success was responsible for relaunching Mercer's career as a songwriter, which had stalled in the mid-1950s because rock and roll had replaced jazz standards as the popular music of the time. The song's popularity is such that it has been used as a test sample in a study on people's memories of popular songs. Comments about the lyrics have noted that they are particularly reminiscent of Mercer's youth in the Southern United Statesand his longing to expand his horizons. Robert Wright wrote in The Atlantic Monthly, "This is a love sung to wanderlust. Or a romantic song in which the romantic partner is the idea of romance." An inlet near Savannah, Georgia, Johnny Mercer's hometown, was named Moon River in honor of him and this song. More About This Fantastic Song On Video - Toward End! +++ Arthur Fiedler (1894 – 1979) was a long-time conductor of the Boston Pops Orchestra, a symphony orchestra that specializes in popular and light classical music. With a combination of musicianship and showmanship, he made the Boston Pops one of the best-known orchestras in the United States of America. Sheep May Safely Graze! (Johann Sebastian Bach) A Beautiful Classical 4K Music Video!

31:18
Johann Sebastian Bach Born: Eisenach, March 21, 1685 Died: Leipzig, July 28, 1750 Regarded as perhaps the greatest composer of all time, Bach was known during his lifetime primarily as an outstanding organ player and technician. The youngest of eight children born to musical parents, Johann Sebastian was destined to become a musician. While still young, he had mastered the organ and violin, and was also an excellent singer. At the age of ten, both of his parents died within a year of each other. Young Sebastian was fortunate to be taken in by an older brother, Johann Christoph, who most likely continued his musical training. At the age of fifteen, Bach secured his first position in the choir of St. Michael's School in Lüneburg. He travelled little, never leaving Germany once in his life, but held various postitions during his career in churches and in the service of the courts throughout the country. His wife, Maria Barbara, died suddenly in 1720, having borne the composer seven children. Within a year Bach remarried. The daughter of the town trumpeter, Anna Magdalena Bach would prove to be an exceptional companion and helpmate to the composer. In addition, the couple sired thirteen children. (Of Bach's twenty off-spring, ten died in infancy. Four became well-known composers, including Carl Philipp Emanuel and Johann Christian.) Soon after his second marriage, Bach began looking for another position, and eventually took one in Leipzig, where he became organist and cantor (teacher) at St. Thomas' Church. He remained in Leipzig for the rest of his life. A devout Lutheran, Bach composed a great many sacred works as his duties required when in the employ of the church: well over two hundred cantatas (a new one was required of him every week), several motets, five masses, three oratorios, and four settings of the Passion story, one of which, The St. Matthew Passion, is one of western music's sublime masterpieces. Bach also wrote vast amounts of music for his chosen instrument, the organ, much of which is still regarded as the pinnacle of the repertoire. One such work is the tremendous Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor. Towards the end of 1749, Bach's failing eyesight was operated on by a traveling English surgeon, the catastrophic results of which were complete blindness. His health failing, Bach nevertheless continued to compose, dictating his work to a pupil. He finally succombed to a stroke on July 28, 1750. He was buried in an unmarked grave at St. Thomas' Church. Bach brought to majestic fruition the polyphonic style of the late Renaissance. By and large a musical conservative, he achieved remarkable heights in the art of fugue, choral polyphony and organ music, as well as in instrumental music and dance forms. His adherence to the older forms earned him the nickname "the old wig" by his son, the composer Carl Philip Emanuel Bach, yet his music remained very much alive and was known and studied by the next generation of composers. It was the discovery of the St. Matthew Passion in 1829 by Felix Mendelssohn that initiated the nineteenth century penchant for reviving and performing older, "classical" music. With the death of Johann Sebastian Bach in 1750, music scholars conveniently mark the end of the Baroque age in music. "At a reverent performance of music, God is always at hand with his gracious presence." When he was 48, Johann Sebastian Bach acquired a copy of Luther's three-volume translation of the Bible. He pored over it as if it were a long-lost treasure. He underlined passages, corrected errors in the text and commentary, inserted missing words, and made notes in the margins. Near 1 Chronicles 25 (a listing of Davidic musicians) he wrote, "This chapter is the true foundation of all God-pleasing music." At 2 Chronicles 5:13 (which speaks of temple musicians praising God), he noted, "At a reverent performance of music, God is always at hand with his gracious presence." As one scholar put it, Bach the musician was indeed "a Christian who lived with the Bible." Besides being the baroque era's greatest organist and composer, and one of the most productive geniuses in the history of Western music, Bach was also a theologian who just happened to work with a keyboard. +++ ALBUM SONGS: Sheep May Safely Graze (Arthur Fiedler), Warsaw Concerto (Ferrante & Teicher), Waltz Of Paree (The Melachrino Strings), Waltz From Coppelia (Leo Delibes), Serenade For Strings (Massimo Freccia, Vienna State Opera), Volare (Melachrino Strings), Volare (101 Strings), +++ GOOGLE SONG INFO: Volare (Nel Blu, Di Pinto Di Blu) - The Melachrino Strings 23:29 - 27:03 Waltzes - Arthur Fiedler 9:51 - 13:04 Volare - 101 Strings Orchestra 27:07 - 30:00 Under Paris Skies - The Melachrino Strings 13:10 - 16:26 Coppelia Suite: Entracte Et Valse - "JTsus Etcheverry 16:29 - 19:38 Waltz from "Serenade for Strings" - Various Artists 19:51 - 23:25 Warsaw Concerto - Ferrante, Teicher 4:43 - 7:16

LYRICS: Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's twilight time Out of the mist your voice is calling, it's twilight time When purple colored curtains mark the end of day I'll hear you, my dear, at twilight time! Deepening shadows gather splendor as day is done Fingers of night will soon surrender the setting sun I count the moments darling till you're here with me Together at last at twilight time! Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue Here in the same and sweet old way, I fall in love again as I did then! Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold Each day I pray for evening just to be with you Together at last at twilight time! Here, in the afterglow of day, we keep our rendezvous beneath the blue Here in the sweet and same old way, I fall in love again as I did then! Deep in the dark your kiss will thrill me like days of old Lighting the spark of love that fills me with dreams untold Each day I pray for evening just to be with you Together at last at twilight time Together at last at twilight time! +++ "Twilight Time" is a popular song with lyrics by Buck Ram, and the music by The Three Suns (Morty Nevins, Al Nevins, and Artie Dunn). Ram said that he originally wrote it as a poem, without music, while in college. Original instrumental recordings of "Twilight Time" included those made respectively by the Three Suns (1944) and Les Brown & His Band of Renown (1945). Les Brown's version of "Twilight Time" was recorded in November 1944 and released in early 1945 as the B-side of "Sentimental Journey," the first recording of that song. While the A-side featured Doris Day's vocals, "Twilight Time" was an instrumental. The first vocal version of the song on record was released, also in 1945, by bandleader Jimmy Dorsey with Teddy Walters on vocals. It has been recorded by numerous groups over the years. However, the best-known version of the song was recorded by the Platters and became a number one hit on both the pop singles and R&B Best Sellers charts in 1958 in the United States (https://youtu.be/8jTyqu6XL4I). The song also reached number three in the United Kingdom. In 1963, the Platters recorded a Spanish version of the song entitled "La Hora del Crepúsculo", sung in a rhumba-style tempo. +++ The Romantic Strings & Orchestra were different contract orchestras working with Reader’s Digest in the making of their famous music albums in and around the 1960s. +++ ALBUM SONGS: Twilight Time (The Romantic Strings), Twilight Time (The Three Suns), Trumpeter’s Lullaby (Arthur Fiedler), Too Young (101 Strings), Tonight (West Side Story), Tonight (Arthur Fiedler), Tonight (Ferrante & Teicher), Tonight (Frank Chacksfield), Tea For Two (Tommy Dorsey), Together (Walter Schumann), +++ Imagine that you have been invited to a statuesque chateau overlooking the sea! Tak Shindo - Mganga! - Legendary Afro-Asian Exotica - Blue Vinyl

00:41
Legendary Afro-Asian Exotica! Jungle beats and lush rhythms from the famed film and television composer. An early stereo marvel from the original 1958 tapes! Takashi "Tak" Shindo was one of the most prominent purveyors of that gorgeous genre known as Exotica, a magnificent and surreal style of music which took the sounds of cultures at the time unknown or mysterious and blended it into a swingy, sexy stew. As a Japanese-American, Shindo brought a unique cultural perspective to the proceedings -- he combined the sounds of his own heritage into a brilliantly orchestrated shabu-shabu that made him a highly in-demand arranger and composer (Shindo would later become known for his TV scores, including Gunsmoke). Nowadays, we'd call it "appropriation," but at the time Exotica knew no such boundaries -- anybody's culture and sound was fair game, often leading to unusual and thrilling combinations of sound. Mganga!is Shindo's exploration of African sounds -- it's obvious that his knowledge of African and afro-Cuban musical forms was based not only on a knowledge of traditional native music but also from soundtracks and "fantasy" versions of music from the African diaspora. Drums and congas abound, as do guttural chants and thrilling Cuban rhythms (and the ever-present exotica sound effects!). But Shindo's own love of Japanese sounds crop up here and there too -- listen for Japanese scales and traditional instruments such as the koto. Modern Harmonic presents the thrilling Mganga! the way it was meant to be heard -- thrillingly mastered from the original master tapes, pressed onto gorgeous colored vinyl and wrapped in restored packaging that reproduces the groundbreaking neo-tribal graphics. Pour yourself an exotic cocktail, turn the lights down low and let Tak Shindo take you to his own crazy, sexy version of Africa!

Charles Williams: Jealous Lover (theme from 'The Apartment' )

03:37
Phillip Sear plays the published piano solo version of a famous theme used in the 1960 Jack Lemmon/Shirley MacLaine/Fred MacMurray movie 'The Apartment'. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Williams ( real name Isaac Cozerbreit ) (1893-1978) was a British conductor and composer of film and light music who took the same professional name as his Polish-born father, who was also in the entertainment business. For more on Charles Williams, see: http://bit.ly/2ulEGeS Although this piece is known as 'Theme from The Apartment', it was actually recycled from the 1949 movie 'The Romantic Age' which featured a young Petula Clark. I have stuck to the published piano version except that I have used split octaves in the dramatic descending octave passage in the middle of the piece (as is done in the original piano and orchestra version!). ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk Upcoming live events: https://events.time.ly/hsr9pfk Email: [email protected] http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] ) Upcoming live events: https://events.time.ly/hsr9pfk YouTube community tab: https://is.gd/SV4II9 Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] ) Upcoming live events: https://events.time.ly/hsr9pfk YouTube community tab: https://is.gd/SV4II9 Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] ) Upcoming live events: https://events.time.ly/hsr9pfk YouTube community tab: https://is.gd/SV4II9 Played by Phillip Sear http://www.psear.co.uk (Email: [email protected] ) Upcoming live events: https://events.time.ly/hsr9pfk YouTube community tab: https://is.gd/SV4II9

Richard Clayderman - Feelings

03:32
awesome relaxing soothing music.. This music is to help you relax, and calm you....Stress reliever A piece of music solo Piano for Richard Clayderman Biography: With his lush, sophisticated, instrumental, approach to pop music, Richard Clayderman (born: Phillipe Pages) is, according to The Guinness Book of World Records, "the most successful pianist in the world." Clayderman's albums routinely sell millions of copies and his concerts are quickly sold out. In a review of his 1985 Carnegie Hall concert, Variety wrote, "(Clayderman's) main appeal lies in his youth and boyish good looks...coupled with his gentlemanly charm and his thick French accent, they promise to rope in the romantically inclined middle-aged Yank ladies who cotton to this ilk of soothing entertainment." Nancy Reagan referred to Clayderman as "the prince of romance." Instructed in classical piano by his father, Clayderman enrolled in the Paris Conservatory of Music at the age of twelve. Four years later, he placed first in a piano competition at the school. Despite his classical background, Clayderman opted for popular music when he launched his professional career. A tour as opening act for French rock musician Johnny Hollyday introduced him to an international following. Clayderman's debut album, Ballade Pour Adeline, recorded at the urging of producers and composers Oliver Toussaint and Paul De Senneville in 1977, sold more than twenty million copies and was distributed in 38 countries. Clayderman, who took his stage name from his Swedish grandmother, has continued to tour throughout the world to enthusiastic audiences. A live concert, broadcast on Chinese television in 1987 attracted more than 800 million viewers. ~ Craig Harris, All Music Guide Representative Songs: "When a Man Loves a Woman," "I Just Called to Say I Love You," "Moon River" Representative Albums: Romance of Richard Clayderman, Plays Love Songs of the World, Concerto Royal Philharmonic Similar Artists: Roger Williams, Liberace, Ferrante & Teicher, Percy Faith Performed Songs By: Paulo Sérgio Valle, Lamartine Babo, Consuelo Velázquez, Newton Mendonça, Stig Anderson, Erasmo Carlos, Ary Barroso, Tim Rice, Paul de Senneville, Andrew Wright, Stevie Wonder, Paul Williams, Marcos Valle, Björn Ulvaeus, Olivier Toussaint, Richard Stilgoe, Roger Nichols, Ennio Morricone, Antonio Carlos Jobim, James Last, Charles Hart, Oscar Hammerstein II, Carlos Gardel, Tom Evans, Claude Debussy, Fryderyk Chopin, Don Black, John Bettis, Benny Andersson, Juan Gabriel, María Mendez Grever, Armando Manzanero, Roberto Carlos, Roberto Cantoral, Richard Carpenter, Vinicius de Moraes, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Elton John, Billy Joel, Ivan Lins, Stephen Sondheim, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Leonard Bernstein, Ludwig van Beethoven Worked With: Gerard Salesses, Hervé Roy, Bruno Ribera, Marc Minier, Magic Sigwalt
