What is NATIONAL BRAND? What does NATIONAL BRAND mean? NATIONAL BRAND meaning & explanation

01:31
What is NATIONAL BRAND? What does NATIONAL BRAND mean? NATIONAL BRAND meaning - NATIONAL BRAND definition - NATIONAL BRAND explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ The brand name of a product that is distributed nationally under a brand name owned by the producer or distributor, as opposed to local brands (products distributed only in some areas of the country), and private label brands (products that carry the brand of the retailer rather than the producer.) National brands must compete with local and private brands. National brands are produced by, widely distributed by, and carry the name of the manufacturer. Local brands may appeal to those consumers who favor small, local producers over large national or global producers, and may be willing to pay a premium to "buy local". The private label producer can offer lower prices because they avoid the cost of marketing and advertising to create and protect the brand. In North America, large retailers such as Loblaws, Walgreens and Wal-Mart all offer private label products. On the other hand, marketing and advertising may give consumers the impression that the national brand is superior to a local- or private-branded product.

What is PRIVATE LABEL? What does PRIVATE LABEL mean? PRIVATE LABEL meaning, definition & explanation

What is PRIVATE LABEL? What does PRIVATE LABEL mean? PRIVATE LABEL meaning - PRIVATE LABEL definition - PRIVATE LABEL explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Private-label products or services, also known as "phantom brands", are typically those manufactured or provided by one company for offer under another company's brand. Private-label goods and services are available in a wide range of industries from food to cosmetics to web hosting. They are often positioned as lower-cost alternatives to regional, national or international brands, although recently some private label brands have been positioned as "premium" brands to compete with existing "name" brands. Growing market shares and increasing variety of private label consumer packaged goods is now a global phenomenon. However, private label market shares exhibit widespread diversity across international markets and product categories. Empirical research on private label products has been of substantial interest to both marketing academics and managers. Considerable work has been done on well-defined areas of private-label research such as private-label brand strategy, market performance of private-label products, competition with national brands, market structure, and buyer behavior. For example, Richelieu Foods is a private-label company producing frozen pizza, salad dressing, marinades, and condiments for other companies, including Hy-Vee, Aldi, Save-A-Lot, Sam's Club, Hannaford Brothers Co., BJ's Wholesale Club (Earth's Pride brand) and Shaw's Supermarkets (Culinary Circle brand). Another example is the Cott Corporation, which manufactures private-label beverages for supermarket chains. McBride plc is a Europe-based provider of private-label household and personal care products. The Private Label Manufacturer's Association (PLMA) in the United States categorizes private-label manufacturers into four categories: 1. Large national brand manufacturers that utilize their expertise and excess plant capacity to supply store brands. 2. Small, quality manufacturers who specialize in particular product lines and concentrate on producing store brands almost exclusively. Often these companies are owned by corporations that also produce national brands. 3. Major retailers and wholesalers that own their own manufacturing facilities and provide store-brand products for themselves. 4. Regional brand manufacturers that produce private-label products for specific markets.

What does WHITE LABEL PRODUCT mean? WHITE LABEL PRODUCT meaning - WHITE LABEL PRODUCT definition - WHITE LABEL PRODUCT explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. A white label product is a product or service produced by one company (the producer) that other companies (the marketers) rebrand to make it appear as if they had made it. The name derives from the image of a white label on the packaging that can be filled in with the marketer's trade dress. Its origins can be traced to vinyl records. Before records were to be released to the public, often before official artwork was designed and printed, promotional copies were sent out in a white sleeve to DJs to solicit radio and nightclub play, in an effort to build hype and gauge public interest by the record labels, ultimately to better estimate manufacturing quantities. This created a situation where certain respected or well-connected DJs would have exclusive copies of material, immediately increasing demand on certain big records. Occasionally this term refers to records whose labels had been torn off or covered with a white label by competing DJs to conceal which records they were using. White label production is often used for mass-produced generic products including electronics, consumer products and software packages such as DVD players, televisions, and web applications. Some companies maintain a sub-brand for their goods, for example the same model of DVD player may be sold by Dixons as a Saisho and by Currys as a Matsui, which are brands exclusively used by those companies. Some websites use white labels to enable a successful brand to offer a service without having to invest in creating the technology and infrastructure itself. Many IT and modern marketing companies outsource or use white-label companies and services to provide specialist services without having to invest in developing their own product. Most supermarket private brand or store brand products are provided by companies that sell to multiple supermarkets, changing only the labels. In addition, some manufacturers create low-cost generic brand labels with only the name of the product ("Cola"). Richelieu Foods, for example, is a private label food manufacturing company producing frozen pizza, salad dressing, sauces, marinades, condiments, and deli salads for other companies, including Hy-Vee, Aldi, Save-A-Lot, Sam's Club, Hannaford Brothers Co., BJ's Wholesale Club (Earth's Pride brand), and Shaw's Supermarkets (Culinary Circle brand). Smaller banks sometimes outsource their credit-card or check processing operations to larger banks, which issues and processes the credit cards as white label cards, typically for a fee, allowing the smaller bank to brand the cards as their own without having to invest in the necessary infrastructure. A current example of this is Cuscal Limited providing white label card and transactional products to Credit Unions in Australia or Simple (formerly BankSimple) in the United States which issues bank accounts and debit cards operated by The Bancorp Bank. In Southern California, City National Bank (CNB) is the largest check processor in that half of the state, because in addition to checks issued by its own customers, CNB processes checks for the customers of more than 60 smaller Southern California banks. Many software companies offer white label software to agencies or other customers, including the possibility to resell the software under the customer’s brand. This typically requires functionalities such as the adaptation of the software’s visual appearance, multi-customer management and automatic billing to the end-customers based on usage parameters.

In this episode of The Amazon Seller Podcast, we give 7 reasons why we prefer selling private label products over any other selling method. 1) Increased Margins A wholesale supply chain may have the manufacturer, then a distributor, then regional wholesalers, then you (as the Amazon wholesale seller), then reach the customer. However with private label, you can cut out the distributor and/or regional wholesalers. With private label, you have the manufacturer, then you as the brand owner that sells directly to the customer through the Amazon sales channel. 2) Control The Supply Chain & The Product When you sell your own branded products, you get to make the decisions! 3) Can Be Agile When Big Brands Are Slow One of the things that we love about being a “small” brand owner is that you can out-maneuver big brands. We actually have private label brands that are selling better on Amazon then big-brands that are sold all over the country in national retail stores. 4) You Control The Price & Don’t Have To Worry About MAP. If you are selling other brands products on Amazon, it can be frustrating if you do not have control over the price. Many times wholesale suppliers will have a MAP (minimum advertised price) that sellers are supposed to follow. When you sell your own private label products, you make the decisions. So if you want to lower your prices for a “flash sale”, you can. 5) You Are The Only Seller On The Listing There are few things more frustrating than ‘The Race To The Bottom”. When you sell your own private label products, you are the only seller on the listing. 6) You Can Wholesale Your Products To Other Sellers Another benefit of selling your own branded private label products is that you have the option to wholesale to other sellers! When you are building private label brands, launching new products and importing containers, cash flow can get tight. And cash flow is king! Well, when you wholesale your products to another seller(s), you shift the capital restraint from yourself to your buyer. 7) Build A Brand That You Can Sell! One of the most valuable aspects of building your own brand is that it is your brand! We Just Survived Trying 4 Of Walmart's Zaniest New Private Label Frozen Foods

03:43
One would be surprised by what a box of frozen chicken and waffles under Walmart's Great Value private-label brand signifies for the world's largest retailer. Ditto a half pizza, half quesadilla product playfully called a 'Pizzadilla' that takes about 22 minutes to heat up in an oven. The rather eclectic new frozen foods offer a small snapshot into what's likely to be a major private-label product push by Walmart this year across all of its store concepts. The push is so great the company decided to open its first-ever culinary innovation center in its Arkansas backyard as a way to incubate new ideas. Private-label products, otherwise known as store brands, are simply products on which stores put their own names or brands. They give retailers a way to set themselves apart from competitors. Consumers know they can buy a national brand such as Pepsi anywhere but they can only buy their favorite store brand at a certain store. Shoppers often love private labels because they tend to be cheaper in price relative to well-known national brands. Retailers love them as they often carry higher profit margins than national brands, which cost more for retailers to buy due to big-name companies such as Pepsi and General Mills passing along their product development and marketing expenditures. According to a Walmart spokesman, private-label products help it offer lower-priced products to economically sensitive consumers. Also, by cutting out the large national brands, the company could move quicker to introduce innovative products. Sales of private-label products have been hot as U.S. consumers continue to count their pennies post-Great Recession, which is likely spurring Walmart's renewed efforts. According to Nielsen, total annual sales of store brands across supermarkets, drugstores and mass merchants rose by $2.2 billion to $118.4 billion last year, an all-time record. In the past two years alone, annual sales of store brands have increased 5%, or $5.4 billion, says Nielsen. TheStreet got its hands on several of Walmart's zaniest new private frozen food creations to see if they stood up in quality and taste to other options for consumers such as cooking at home for the family or a trip to a McDonald's drive-thru. SUBSCRIBE to our Google Earth flights channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6UuCPh7GrXznZi0Hz2YQnQ Store brands are a line of products strategically branded by a retailer within a single brand identity. They bear a similarity to the concept of house brands, private label brands (PLBs) in the United States, own brands in the UK, and home brands in Australia and generic brands. They are distinct in that a store brand is managed solely by the retailer for sale in only a specific chain of store. The retailer will design the manufacturing, packaging and marketing of the goods in order to build on the relationship between the products and the store's customer base. Store-brand goods are generally cheaper than national-brand goods, because the retailer can optimize the production to suit consumer demand and reduce advertising costs. Goods sold under a store brand are subject to the same regulatory oversight as goods sold under a national brand. Consumer demand for store brands might be related to individual characteristics such as demographics and socioeconomic variables. A store brand is a way of relating to different customers. Different types of store brands can relate to a customer through the choice of branding and building a relationship with the consumer. Store brands can relate to a consumer through various characteristics such as different demographics. The store brand is the only brand in which the retailer has the full responsibility of control such as development, sourcing, warehousing, merchandising and marketing. Whereas retailers make different decisions about national brands and leave it up to the manufacturer. With a store brand it is more important for the retailer as it plays a more definite role in the achievement or failure of its own label. This information is based on data from 34 food categories at 106 major supermarket chains, which operate in the largest 50 retail markets in the U.S. (Dhar, S. K., & Hoch, S. J. 1997) Although national brands have long dominated the retail scene, retailers generally use their national brands to draw customers to their stores. Recently department stores, supermarkets, service stations, clothiers and chemists have started to increase more store brands. Studies show that consumers are buying more and more store brands and don’t plan on returning to national brands anytime soon. (Kotler et al. 2013) Store brands are generally cheaper than national brands, which, with consumers becoming more price-conscious and less brand conscious, has increased store brand sales. (Kotler st al. 2013) Some marketers have predicted that store brands will eventually knock out all the strongest national brands.( Kotler et al. 2013) Store brands have a tendency to generate higher margins than national brands. Store brands have previously been known as low-price and low quality brands, but now they are currently positioned as value brands and brands with the aim to have the quality equivalent to manufacturer brands, but with lower prices. Retailers in the USA and Europe have made huge investments to launch store brands with the main object of securing significant financial benefits. Retailers have developed store brands in almost every product category and their economic value is constantly increasing. Store image, store loyalty and store satisfaction have a positive impact on the acceptance of store brand extensions. Sometimes the retailer’s brand image depends on the images that the store brands set. Although the store brands have positive impacts on the retailers image. “Retailers can find a rationale for investing in their store brand range in order to differentiate themselves from their competitors.”( Kremer, F., & Viot, C. 2012). The retailers store brand image should relate to their own store brand and the price image of the store brand is positively related to the retailer price image. The relationship between store brand loyalty and store loyalty still remains unknown. Research suggests a non-monotonic relationship between store brand loyalty and store loyalty, positive up to a certain store brand loyalty level, after which it becomes negative. Current arguments recommend this relationship may relate to the competitive positioning of store brands, especially their price-quality positioning. .....

Building a brand is the ultimate competitive advantage in your business; it is what is going to allow you to succeed and prosper, long-term. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon.com once said, “Your brand is what people say about you when you are not in the room”. A lot of business owners focus on building a business, rather than a brand. A study done by Inc. magazine and the National Business Incubator Association (NBIA) revealed that 80 percent of new businesses fail within the first five years. The best way to build a brand online is by creating content. By adding value, it will attract people to your brand. Sure enough, when you launch products, they will buy from you, because they like and trust you. This is how Stefan has been able to create a 7-figure internet marketing brand. ★☆★ VIEW THE BLOG POST: ★☆★ https://projectlifemastery.com/how-to-build-a-brand-online/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_campaign=blog-post-promo&utm_term=how-to-build-a-brand-online&utm_content=lc-youtube-description ★☆★ SUBSCRIBE TO ME ON YOUTUBE: ★☆★ Subscribe ► http://projectlifemastery.com/youtube ★☆★ FOLLOW ME BELOW: ★☆★ Blog ► https://www.projectlifemastery.com/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=youtube&utm_campaign=homepage-promo&utm_term=how-to-build-a-brand-online&utm_content=lc-youtube-description Twitter ► http://www.projectlifemastery.com/twitter Twitter ► http://www.twitter.com/stefanjames23 Facebook ► http://www.projectlifemastery.com/facebook Facebook ► http://www.facebook.com/stefanjames23 Instagram ► http://projectlifemastery.com/instagram Instagram ► http://www.instagram.com/stefanjames23 Snapchat ► http://projectlifemastery.com/snapchat Periscope ► http://projectlifemastery.com/periscope iTunes Podcast ► http://www.projectlifemastery.com/itunes ★☆★ ABOUT PROJECT LIFE MASTERY: ★☆★ The Project Life Mastery YouTube channel is the place to be for motivational, inspiring, educational, and uplifting self improvement videos.
