How to Plan a Beginner Camping Trip | Camping
Watch more How to Camp videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/508072-How-to-Plan-a-Beginner-Camping-Trip-Camping I wrote my book for women and also men who were reluctant campers, people who are born in cities, who never saw anybody camping. Like me. I didn't know anybody who camped as a kid and I just was never exposed to it and the whole idea of it seemed scary and gross and dirty and a chore. And then I fell in love with it. So the big thing I can tell you about planning a beginner trip is to make it manageable and plan it so that you still love camping after the first trip. For a beginner, a great first trip is car camping. It really gets you a little bit initiated to the great outdoors and suddenly you realize how nice it can be to be away from electricity and television and your cellphone and conveniences, and even your bed, but at the same time, you've got your car there, so if you forget something you can always run and get it. You can bring a lot of stuff, so you don't have to stress about packing. You can bring water, you can bring a cooler, so you can have the foods that you like to have. Car camping is a great way to get started as a camper. If you want to try a primitive camping trip, there's a couple of things I think you should think about. I would recommend just about a one- to two-mile hike in and what I mean by that is you park your car, you put on your backpack, and then you hike one to two miles in to where camping is permitted and that's where you set up. And then I wouldn't plan the kind of trip for a beginner where you're traveling. I would say you hike in, you camp, and then you hike back out. From home base, from your camp site, you can plan hikes, but you'll always come back, like the center of a tire, that's your home base and then you can take trips out from there. I think that makes a really nice beginner trip. I think it's just enough to feel that you accomplish something and you feel like you really tried primitive camping because there won't be a way to go to the bathroom, you'll just live off of what's on your back, so you'll have that really exciting feeling of doing that, but you'll also be so close to your car that you could run and get something if you needed to. And you'll have that safety of knowing that the car is not that far away. So a one- to two-mile hike in off of the trail head to your camp site, it gives you the chance to experience living off of just what's off your back. It gives you the chance to experience primitive camping, so there is no bathroom to run to, there is no outhouse with running water, a place to wash your hands. So you'll get to experience all of that, but you'll be close enough to the car that leaving is easy when you're done and you just want to get home. You have a quick little hike out, you're in your car and you're on your way to the conveniences of civilizations, and you also have the safety of knowing that the car is not that far away if you decide you hate it.

How to Pack for a Camping Trip
Watch more Packing Tips videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/400108-How-to-Pack-for-a-Camping-Trip Camping can be a nightmare if you're unprepared. Pack the essentials so you'll be ready for anything when you're in the wild. Step 1: Find out about the environment Find out about the environment you'll be camping in. You should know whether you'll be camping in a sandy area, in rocky terrain, or in an area with heavy vegetation. Pack a water-resistant, easy-to-assemble tent suitable for your location. Step 2: Pack the right sleeping bag Pack a sleeping bag that is appropriate for the weather conditions. If you'll be camping at a high elevation, temperatures will drop quickly at night. Pack a sleeping bag that can keep you warm at temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit. Step 3: Find out about possible hazards Find out about possible hazards. Know before you pack if you'll need animal-proof containers for food or other equipment to prepare you for environmental or wildlife hazards. Step 4: Pack a first-aid kit Make sure your first-aid kit contains any medication you might need, as well as sunscreen, gauze, antiseptic wipes, calamine lotion, bandages, disposable gloves, a snake bite kit, alcohol pads, medical tape, insect repellent, and electrolyte tablets. Step 5: Pack emergency supplies Pack a kit with emergency supplies, including a flashlight, extra batteries, bottled water, waterproof matches, high-carbohydrate snacks, a whistle, a thermal reflective blanket, a pocketknife, and a compass. Tip Make sure you know how to use your compass. Step 6: Pack appropriate clothes Bring practical clothes that dry quickly, clothes that layer easily, extra socks and shoes, hiking boots, rain gear, a well-fitting, wide-brimmed hat, and a rain hat. Step 7: Bring water Pack plenty of drinking water. A natural water source may look inviting, but it could be contaminated with parasites that can make you sick. Tip You can get water purification tablets at camping supply stores. Step 8: Bring maps Pack maps of the area or get some from the park ranger's office in case you get lost on a hike. Have fun, be safe, and enjoy the great outdoors. Did You Know? Black bears can run up to 35 miles per hour.

How to plan a trip/ camping trip- My silver award project
This is my girl scout silver award project i got inspired to do this when my troop took a trip to Washington d.c. in the summer of 2012. my troop leader was really stressed out so i decided that why couldn't the girls help out too with knowledge that they could have over trip planning. my silver award teachers kids how to pack and what they need to pack for certain trips. the pictures are mostly from my trip to d.c. but at the end were pictures that had been taken of a presentation that i did at a daycare center for the older kids. the pictures show how the kids learned how to fold a bandana for when they go camping and how to pack with a little help from others.

Messing this step up will quickly ruin your trip. 5) Hiking Light - Lightweight backpacking will allow you to enjoy the walking part, which is pretty key on all backpacking trips. 6) Campsite Planning - Plotting out a tentative campsite plan for your trip is a critical step. You might change up your plan along the way, but not having a plan could create a range of problems. 7) Water Plan - Knowing where reliable water sources will be along your route is one of the most important parts of backpacking trip planning. 8) Food Plan - Plan out your trip meals with lightweight food choices. Eat well and keep your weight down. Here's our lightweight food guide - http://www.cleverhiker.com/lightweight-gear-basics/episode-7-lightweight-trail-food 9) Get The Gear - Always test backpacking gear before taking it out into the field. Here are our favorite lightweight backpacking tools - http://www.cleverhiker.com/gear/ 10) Packing List - Always run through a lightweight backpacking list to make sure you don't leave behind any important gear. 11) Current Conditions - Check the current conditions on the trail just before your backpacking trip so there aren't any surprises, like fire bans, snow on the trail, or closed sections of trail. 12) Final preparations - Always make sure to leave a detailed itinerary with a friend and contact them as soon as you get back from your trip. Camping checklist meal planning - food, shopping, and packing
Camping checklist meal planning - food, shopping, and packing This is our routine for camping and hunting trips with bonus video of what would have been my youngest boys 1st deer this season. We always prepare a list of meals and snacks and go to the store the night before we leave. It is much easier to plan and prepare at home then when you are camping you spend less time cooking and can relax by the fire. Don’t forget to subscribe and like, leave lots of feedback, advice, suggestions, etc. but most importantly get inspired to get out of your routine! Hiking the Standing Indian Loop - 3 Day Hammock Camping Trip
Join me for 3 days of Hiking, Hammock Camping & Backpacking along the Appalachian Trail in North Carolina’s Nantahala National Forest. GPS Data & Gear List at http://www.sintax77.com For this backpacking trip, I’ll be doing a 3 day, 2 night hammock camping trip on the Standing Indian Loop in the Nanatahala National Forest. The Standing Indian Loop is a 24 mile loop with a total elevation gain of 4,672′. The loop is made using a portion of the white blazed Appalachian Trail along with the blue blazed Lower Ridge Trail and Long Branch Trail. Campsites and water sources are plentiful on this loop, although many of the campsites are not located along water, so plan accordingly. In my case, I chose two campsites that did have nearby water sources, for added convenience. For an easier read and more info, check out my full blog post: http://www.sintax77.com/hiking-the-standing-indian-loop-3-day-hammock-camping-trip/ For the ultralight backpacking enthusiasts out there: Gear Lists for this trip and others can be found on my website's Gear Lists Page or by using the Lighterpack.com link below, which includes clickable gear links for more details. https://lighterpack.com/r/3pzcpt Base Weight: 7.3 lbs GPS Data for this trip and many others can be found on my website's Trip Data Page or in the blog post link above. Includes full track data for each day, and way-points for campsites used / observed along the loop. Trailhead Used: Backcountry Information Area – N35° 04.570′ W83° 31.707′ Just up the road from the Standing Indian Campground (car and RV camping), this area permits overnight parking with spaces available for a half dozen cars or so. Trails Used, Day 1: Park at the Information area Lower Ridge Trail (located just behind the bulletin board) Arrive at intersection with the Appalachian Trail, near summit of Standing Indian Mountain Setup camp This area has multiple campsite options spread of a large area. A blue blazed spur trail departs the AT near the intersection and leads to a piped spring water source. Day 1 Mileage: 5 miles Day 1 Gross Elevation Gain: 2,113′ Trails Used, Day 2: Head out Northbound on the Appalachian Trail (away from the spring spur trail) Note: In the video I state on this morning that I was on the Appalachian Trail South. That was incorrect. The AT winds around a bit in this area, and while my compass heading was indeed south, I was actually on the AT North. Arrive at Betty Creek Gap and the depart the AT on the Blue Blazed Spur trail to legal camping. While you will notice established campsites directly on the AT at Betty Creek Gap, a sign indicates that camping is currently not permitted for restoration purposes. Setup camp along the water at the end of the spur trail. There are several campsites near the water. If they’re taken – cross the water and continue about 30 yards to the gravel forest road. After crossing the road, you will see more camping options in the woods. Day 2 Mileage: 11 miles Day 2 Gross Elevation Gain: 1,332′ Trails used. Day 3: Backtrack on the spur trail to the AT intersection from yesterday. Continue on the Appalachian Trail North. Catch some views at the Albert Mountain Firetower (located directly on the AT) Continue on the AT. At the intersection, take the Long Branch Trail. Arrive back at the Backcountry Information Area. Day 3 Mileage: 8 miles Day 3 Gross Elevation Gain: 1,227′ Notable Backpacking Gear Seen: (or use this link for full list with details - https://lighterpack.com/r/3pzcpt ) Backpack: Gregory Optic 48 backpack https://amzn.to/2KOLsTp Dutchware Argon Pack Cover https://dutchwaregear.com/product/waterproof-pack-cover/ (the Optic 48 comes with a pack cover, but I already had the lighter Argon cover, which saves a couple ounces) Shelter: Hammock Gear Cuben Hex Tarp http://www.hammockgear.com/dyneema-cuben-fiber-hex-tarp/ Tent Spikes, Titanium http://amzn.to/2tHPGEB Sleep System: Dutchware Gear Half-Wit Hammock https://dutchwaregear.com/half-wit-hammock.html Dutchware Whoopie Hooks with Kevlar Tree Straps https://dutchwaregear.com/product/whoopie-hook-complete-suspension/ Hammock Gear Burrow 40 Top Quilt http://www.hammockgear.com/burrow-40/ Hammock Gear Phoenix 30 Under Quilt http://www.hammockgear.com/phoenix-30/ Cooking & Eating: Toaks 450ml Titanium Cup https://amzn.to/2GLboZV DIY Cat can Alcohol Stove Sea to Summit Alpha Light Spork, Long http://amzn.to/2uyl5GJ Water Treatment: Katadyn BeFree Water Filter https://amzn.to/2LCh4sp Lighting: Olight H05 Headlamp https://amzn.to/2H8zD6g Optional Electronics that I use during filming: Garmin Oregon 650 GPS https://amzn.to/2J9O5hK Spot Gen3 GPS Locator https://amzn.to/2sabfuS Want to help support the channel? Gifford Pinchot Camping Trip Video
Our plan was to go camp up at my favorite lake (Council Lake) I wait anxiously every June/ July for the snow to melt, so I can go. Sadly, the dirt bike riders have taken over. So after driving around for an hour looking for a spot, we decided to stop at Takhlahk Lake for the night. Broke camp in the morning and hiked up the Divide Camp Trail. After that we drove another hour and set up camp at Chambers Lake.

Wildcat Creek Camping/Fishing Trip
Right before the weekend hit, my crazy friends decide to plan a camping/fishing trip to Wildcat Creek, Georgia. This trip was a "spur the moment" type thing, so there was not much planning involved. I learned a lot of new things on this trip! One of the most important being, never buy inner tubes from Walmart... My favorite part of this trip was playing the 2 new games we thought of (Hammock Frisbee, and Throwing a inner tube on a pole???). I also got to see a wild black bear for the first time! Glad we didn't get mauled to death... Anyways, hope ya'll enjoy!

The Erangel map is the base map for the game. It's pocked with small croppings of buildings, each with a good distance between them, necessitating the use of vehicles to move between areas. As the game continues, the map area will be restricted to a smaller and smaller play area. A red circle will result in bombing. Along side of adapting to red zones and the circle, Erangel has different weather each time you play in which you have to adapt your shooting, visibility and tactics. In order to make your best use of this map, you really need to be aware of where the players often congregate. Any groupings of three or more buildings can be a huge choke point where a lot of players are at, meaning you could die really fast. When clearing areas, make sure you approach in prone and without openly firing - this will help hide your location. Additionally, take your time clearing buildings. It's much easier to move through buildings one room at a time, clearing each, than it is to run through trying to get everything as fast as you can with the hope of not wiping. Remember - it's better to get poor gear and live than it is to get great gear and die immediately. music featured in this video FM Attack - Sleepless Nights Niky Nine - Road Lost Years-Pressure PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is a multiplayer online battle royale video game developed and published by PUBG Corp., a subsidary of Korean publisher Bluehole http://store.steampowered.com/app/578080/PLAYERUNKNOWNS_BATTLEGROUNDS/ XFX - Ultra Overclock Edition Radeon HD 7770

First Camping Trip - Camping With Kids
Ever since my daughter turned 4, I've been waiting for the right time to take her on our first camping trip! My original plan was to do a short hike to a great site in the Kisatchie Hills Wilderness. We made it 100 feet from the truck before she was done...plan B. There are several semi-developed campgrounds in this area and we ended up at Coyote Camp. I only had gear for backpack camping, so I am looking forward to expanding into car camping. Chairs, ice chests, Coleman stoves, soooo luxurious!! Find more info: http://www.louisianahikes.com
