HOW-TO: Dress Like the Men of New York City

95 ratings | 21600 views
Styleogue takes to the streets of New York City to check out the street fashions and ask men – 'what is your personal style?' And, most importantly: 'what are you wearing?' The men of Fifth Avenue in downtown Manhattan wore a kaleidoscope of fashions – from ruff urban street style to thrift shop chic and the classic all-black look. NYC Nightlife Personality and NARS Make-up Artist at Barney’s, Sergio Conrad (aka Digna Shei) described his style as “simple but cute”. He described his fashion philosophy as “I just wears black”. On the day we met him, he was wearing his ”lazy outfit” – of boatshoes, a black jacket, jeans and some killer thrift store sunglasses. Business college student Tristan loved urban hip hop style. He was wearing his go-to style of a hoodie, sweat pants and hat. He explained that hip hop fashion used to be baggy – but it’s cleaned up a bit and is tighter… while still being “ruff”. He was wearing Blue Royal Nike Air Jordans, a Don C hat (Kanye West’s brand of choice) with snakeskin strap and a Riccardo Tisci t-shirt (another Kanye favourite). Actor and comedian Richie Alfson described his style as “random, comfortable” and whatever he felt like putting on that day. He was wearing corduroy from H&M, beat up Vans shoes, a women’s sweater from a thrift store, as well as a tank top and scarf of unknown origins. What street style inspired you the most? And what is your own personal street style? Video shot and produced by Bec Susan Gill and Jayde Lovell. You can wear fucking anything u just don't gotta look like u doing too much and cross over styles be unique instead of following trends like wear vans or Jordan's with vintage /thrifted clothes and then have a hypebeast shirt under and add accessories watches rings etc to make it look flashier . But please don't walk around with full bape or preme fits or all designer if you can't style it cause just cause it expensive doesn't me it look good on you .
